This topic area intends to fund focused projects in novel and emerging areas of photovoltaics research which have the potential to produce dramatic progress towards a solar LCOE of $/kWh by 7585 through improvements in any combination of the areas represented in Figure 6 (cost, reliability and efficiency/performance). Applications of interest will propose targeted, well-defined projects that can produce motivating results within the first year of performance. If successful, the outcomes will open up new avenues for continued study.
Topic 9: Precursor Development for Low-Cost, High-Strength Carbon Fiber for Use in Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessel Applications – this topic will aim to reduce the cost of onboard hydrogen storage necessary for FCEVs. Applicants for this topic will be encouraged to collaborate with LightMAT, a consortium launched by the DOE Vehicle Technologies Office to enable light-weighting of vehicles through the development of high-strength steels and carbon fiber.

The . Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) is seeking information on risk quantification and management in geothermal exploration, especially as it pertains to decision making in late stage exploration activities such as drilling and advanced geophysical surveys.
The purpose of this RFI is to seek input from stakeholders on a potential model hydrogen station, and in particular what features, trainings, technologies, etc. should be present to maximize use and utility of the station. In this RFI we seek feedback on the proposal for the first phase of HyTeST station, as well as subsequent phases. The input will help DOE prioritize features and activities at the demonstration station, to best serve stakeholders’ needs.
